General Instructions
The Idaho State Tax Commission does not require you to file a request for additional time. Idaho grants an automatic extension until October 15, 2009 to file your 2008 tax return. However, to avoid penalties, you must pay 80 percent of your current year tax liability or 100 percent of the tax reported on your 2007 income tax return by April 15, 2009. If you will owe $50 or less, a payment is not required, however, interest will be charged.

If you owe additional Idaho Income Taxes you may pay your estimated balance due in the following ways:
Pay with check or money order:- Prepare an Estimated Payment Form 51 (click here to download PDF)
- Enclose a check or money order in the amount of the estimated tax due.
- Mail to:Idaho State Tax Commission

You can pay your balance due by Direct Debit (electronic check) from your bank account or by credit card at the Idaho State Tax Commission web site. You will not be required to file any additional forms at this time. http://Tax.Idaho.gov/ElectronicPaymentsInter.htm
